Dear Family!!
Happy May everyone! I guess this is the last month of school for most of you before summer vacation gets started. And of course we all know that MOTHERS DAY is coming up and I wonder why we would be looking forward to that!? Actually I am pretty excited…free flowers!
Well, out of every other week of my mission, this was probably the most successful. Elder Groberg and I decided we would have the best week of our missions while we were still together so we set some ridiculously high goals last week and decided to take shorter lunches and time out of preparation day to accomplish them and it was totally worth it! I am pretty exhausted but surprisingly it just makes me want to work harder this week. I’m pretty sure we set a couple mission records though and those will be hard to beat again.
I don’t remember what I told you last week but about two weeks ago we tracted into a lady named Alicia and she has been to church all three Sundays since then. Right now she is planning on being baptized in about three weeks but she has to stop smoking first. We started the stop smoking workshop with her yesterday but she had already quit on her own since we taught her the Word of Wisdom on Friday. It is going to be pretty hard for her because her son is still living with her and he does not like us at all and he is also a smoker. But once she gets through this first week I think she will be alright. She has had answers to her prayers and she really believes everything we have taught her so far.
Benjamin is doing Great!! Every time we teach him comes a little closer to accepting the invitation to be baptized. We start by teaching him a principle, then he disagrees so he asks a lot of questions and then works it out in his own mind until he is certain we are right, then we leave and he prays and the next time we come he knows it is true! The spirit is definitely working on him and our ward is really pushing for him too.
The Mooneyham family that we picked up is doing great. In our second lesson this last week with them they kept dropping hints like they wanted to be baptized. They are not quite ready to accept our invitation but they are definitely preparing for it. We left them a chapter to read in the Book of Mormon, but instead they read about ten pages! They’ve been waiting a long time for this message.
So that is just a few of our investigators. We have been very blessed and we really enjoy being in this area. One of the exchanges I went on last week was with the Spanish Elders and I said my very first Spanish prayer all by myself! Ya, they were pretty impressed too.
Well I love you all and hope you have an amazing week.
Love YA!
