Dear Family and Friends!
So we had interviews with President Pendleton this week and he pretty much gave me marriage advice the entire time. Don’t ask me why! It sort of made me nervous. Hey! I got an invitation to Kristie’s senior recital. It looks like I missed it, sorry about that. What did she do for it? Send her flowers for me!
Well this week has been pretty normal for us. Transfers went pretty smoothly since not much happened in the zone. This entire week has rained non stop and I love it. Each day of rain is one less day of heat! Plus that means we get to go tracting in the rain. President Packer promises that if we tract in the rain people will let us in who would have otherwise turned us away. That would have happened this week except we were tracting out in the middle of no where so we seriously talked to people in about five houses in two hours.
We picked up a new investigator this past week because our President promised us we would find someone to baptize if we went and visited all of the Former Investigators in our ward. We had already done that but we decided we better do it again so we met with Larry again. This time he was available and interested in meeting with us again. It turns out he has read the entire Book of Mormon and he really likes it. He wants to come to church but has had a hard time while his wife goes to another church. So we are taking him on a chapel tour this week to hopefully make it easier.
It sounds like Ty and Jordan are doing well. Thanks for forwarding their emails to me. And I’m glad Dad is getting the Garden in today! Oh Guess what, we had a new member move in this week from El Paso Texas. I guess she wasn't from our stake because President Murphy wasn't her stake President. But it was really fun to talk to her. And Happy birthday to my brother Jason!! Go out and buy yourself Ice cream on me! ( I'll pay you back later.)
We got to teach combined meetings in church yesterday about conversion. While I was studying I found one of the beast ways to increase our conversion is through making and keeping covenants. (Alma 5: 2-7) It is such an enabling gift to be able to receive Promises from God. I don’t get to go to the temple very often but I hope all of you take the chance whenever you can.
Well I love you all and hope you have a wonderfull week!
Love Ya
Elder Ryan J Allred
