Ryan's Letter:
Wow, yesterday was amazing! So we had a really hard morning with all of our meetings in the morning, plus we had people from the mission office there just to make sure we were doing everything right. We had a lot of people telling us what we need to do better, and I was pretty stressed out. During lunch I walked into our apartment and just fell on the floor completely exhausted. After being on the floor for about fifteen minutes, Elder Boody tossed me the phone and said there was a message for me. It was from Carol Fowler, the member, telling us that she wouldn't be able to come to church today. Unfortunatley, that also meant that Carol Lloyd, our investigator, would not be coming. I tried everything I could to get someone else to drive her, because we really wanted to see her there so we could commit her to baptism this week. By the time I got the ride, Carol had changed her mind about coming this week. Other than that, we only had three of our investigators cancel on us this week.
By the time we got to church we were not very happy, but I think the Lord, as always, was ready to pick up our slack. As we walked into Sacrament meeting I met Justin, who seemed a little nervous to be there, but he was already sitting with a member. I found out he had just walked in and asked if he could join the church. We sat with him during all three meetings and found out he lives in the same apartments as us. Throughout the day he went around saying, "Hi, I'm Justin, and I hope to be joining your church soon." The thing that really excites me is that he does have some backround with the church, so he sort of knows what he is getting involved in. That was our very needed tender mercy from the Lord this week.
I love you all
Elder Allred from California!
