Hello World!

Guess what!?!  More exciting news that you don't want to miss.  Hold on to your seats, especially you Jason 'cause you are going to be soo jeolous.  Ha Ha!  Along with a new physical address for our mission office, I also have a new email address.  If you haven't heard yet the church is switching all of the missionaries email accounts into a new system directed by GMail.  So we all had new addressess assigned to us, but the old one will still work for a couple weeks.  I guess this only applies to my immediate family(Mom, Dad, Scott, Lorinda, Jason, Kristie, Jennifer, Sheresa, Sarah, Saryn,)  but I just thought I would let you all know that our new system is pretty sweet! it is organized exactly like a normal gmail account except we don't have chat.  And it will now be a lot easier to send pictures and stuff.

Well, I'm sorry I missed charades last night!  I hope it all went well any way.  I've found power rangers to be very usefullin teaching little children out here too. :)  Anyway, I was busy with a previous engagement or I would have been there.  As a matter of fact I was kept very busy this week but it turned out great as I find it always does.
Hmm where to start this time...aha:  Denise and Kyle started the Stop Smoking workshop this past week and have now been non-smokers for 4 days!  Wahoo.  They are doing amazing.  And we really got started with teaching Star this week.  She is the one who we helped pull out of the mud.  I hope I uploaded the right picture, it should be one with me stuck in the mud.  I guess that is why they don't let missionaries drive truck.  Just kidding I just got in for the picture.

I don't remember if I told you about Jaclyn but we had a very neat experience with her last night.  She is eighteen and has been taking missionary lessons for about six months in our bishop's home.  They have tried to commit her to baptism before but her parents are not very supportive.  She actually has an older brother who joined the church a few years ago that is encouraging her not to be baptized.  But she has been coming to church for the past six months ans seminary for about a month now.  She even gave a talk in church a couple of months ago.  Last night was our first real lesson with her, last time we jsut got to know her.  We read with her John 7:17 and told her that she has been doing the Lord's will for the past couple of months and asked her if she felt it was true.  By the way, the bishop's family was their the entire lesson and they were amazing especially in sharing their testimonies.  We talked with her for quite a while then i turned to Elder Smith and her extended the baptismal commitment.  The room fell into complete silence and stayed that way for about thirty seconds.  Finally jaclyn looked up and said yes!  The spirit rushed into the room as if to confirm to each of us that she had made the correct choice.  We are definitely very excited!

Tracting and talking to people on the streets has continued to be very succesfull here in Auburn.  Last night after all of our lesons we realized that we were just short of our goal for contacts this week so we started wandering through some apartment complexes.  We didn't want to knock on any doors because it was soo late so we were just looking for people outside.  As we past one door I just had a strong desire to knock on it but decided not to.  We walked around for some time and were eventually invited inside one home for a short time.  When we left i realized we were right next to the one I wanted to knock on before.  We decided why not and went for it.  Steve came out and was pretty frustrated with us at first, but we ended up talking to him for about 15 minutes and getting a return appointment.  As we were alking back to the car we had already reached our goal, but Elder Smith felt we should try one more.  We stopped and looked around at all of the houses and picked one.  There we met Mark and we are going back to teach him and his family tonight.

Well pretty cool stuff.  We did a lot of reports last week but still the Lord blessed us with time to reach all of our goals.

Dad- Here is my new address just to look up to see where i live, not for mail.  8650 Vista Bella Drive.  Auburn, Ca.  95602

I hope you all have a great week, I plan to.  Love Ya!

Elder Allred
