Ryan’s Letter:

Subject: Still sunny in California!

Hello World!

Well, you are probably all wondering how Jaclyn's baptism was this week so I might as well tell you right off.  It was pretty much the best baptism I have ever been to.  There were about 100 people who came so we had to hold it in the chapel.  I think the thing that made it a great baptism was that it was very simple, and the spirit was very strong.  Everyone that participated in the program, except the piano player and President Pendleton and the Priesthood leaders, was 18 or younger.  It was really neat to have six year old twins give the prayers and teenagers give the talks.  Jaclyn was really excited and it all went perfectly.  (I attached a picture, it is pretty blurry but it's not too bad) Yesterday she was given the gift of the Holy Ghost and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Pretty cool stuff.

We had a lot of our investigators that were able to attend the baptism, that is a really neat experience for them to actually witness someone taking the steps to follow the Savior.  We have been very blessed in this area with plenty of people to teach.  This last week we found two new investigators who have already begun to progress in learning about the restored gospel.  The couple that came to church last week for the first time, Ben and Chandra, are doing amazing.  Chandra is basically already active in the church again and Ben is doing his best to learn.  They fed us dinner last night and Ben was just asking one question after another.  He is having a hard time pulling in all the facts and comparing it to his previous beliefs but is doing great.  We are just trying to get him to focus more on the spiritual aspect.  He really enjoys coming to church and loves the way he feels while he is there.

I just got an email from Dad about the guy who has been coming to church in Rexburg, it seriously just made me really excited.  That is soo Cool.  I don't know if you have noticed but quiet a few of the people I have seen get baptized out here started out by randomly walking into church on their own.  A lot of the wearing jeans.  That is awesome!  When someone catches on fire and they just "get it" it is a really neat experience.

Well life is pretty good right now, I can't believe I have already been in Auburn for almost 6 weeks!  We will see next week if I get to stay another transfer.  Until then I hope you all have a great week.  Peace Out!
